Poresta® Plus Ge - shower element for the Geberit wall drain now also with soundproofing values

poresta systems (formerly illbruck Sanitärtechnik) is the expert for floor-level shower systems. The company's floor-level shower solutions have been installed by specialised trades people for over 10 years and now number more than 375,000.

The new Poresta® Plus Ge which was introduced in 2012 enables a gradient surface to be created quickly and easily in combination with the Geberit wall drain. The product is available in two shapes (square and pentagon); each with the dimensions 1000x1000x50 mm (special shapes available on request). The shower element is easy to trim and work and comes complete with a KMK coating. The shower element is sealed permanently to adjacent building components with the additional KMK sealing accessories from poresta systems. A general test certificate is being prepared for the seal.

Poresta® Plus Ge has a 1.5% gradient and can be tiled with no further preparation. With a tile size of at least 100x100 mm (or 50x50 mm with additional fibre glass reinforcement in the tile adhesive) the shower element is also wheelchair accessible. Soundproofing is very important, especially in building projects with several residential units. poresta systems GmbH has provided sound test values according to DIN 4109 and SIA 181 for its products for many years and has continuously increased and expanded these. For some time, soundproofing values have been available for all Poresta floor-level shower systems when they are installed with the optional Poresta® soundproofing accessories.

In addition, a recent technical statement from the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik) confirms that the Poresta® Plus Ge shower element can also be installed where increased soundproofing according to DIN 4109 is needed; values for certification according to SIA 181 are also available. According to the underlying test report, sound values are available for sound transmission from the bathroom to the front and rear of the basement and to the rear of the ground floor. Based on measurements in the laboratory, a sound level of just 14 dB(A) can be achieved in the rear of the basement. This sound is not discernible to the human ear in a normal living environment with normal ambient noise. Values for reducing impact sound transmission are also available. The  reduction in impact sound transmission is 28 dB, which enables increased protection against sound transmission. Impact sound protection is especially important where shower areas are also entered with shoes, such as nursing homes, hotels and hospitals.

poresta systems provides an extensive range of brochures on impact sound transmission according to DIN and SIA, which can be downloaded at www.poresta.com or be ordered from poresta systems.
