New: Poresta® Limit S 95

Tileable, floor-level shower solution scores with

low installation height and enormous drainage capacity

Floor-level designs are the bathroom trend of tomorrow – not only because of the ageing population but also when it comes to far-sighted bathroom planning. Shower solutions with attractive drain channels are particularly important when coming up with elegant, high-quality bathroom designs. Tradespeople have relied on intelligent solutions from poresta systems GmbH when creating barrier-free shower areas for many years. The company is now setting new technical standards with the Poresta® Limit S 95, its new waterproof-coated hard-foam shower unit. This innovative product will be launched at the turn of the year. In spite of its extremely low installation height of just 95 mm including gradient, it offers an enormous drainage capacity of 54 l/min. as well as attractive grate designs for the drain channel which forms part of the overall system.

Shower solutions which are among the most innovative products on the market are the hallmark of poresta systems GmbH. The Poresta® BF 70 and Poresta® Limit S floor-level shower systems are a particularly popular choice. Both offer special technical and design features. Given its extremely low installation height of just 70 mm, the Poresta® BF 70 is primarily used in existing bathrooms. In contrast, the Poresta® Limit S system is mainly installed in new buildings and features an attractive drain channel which is located right next to the wall. The latest innovation from poresta systems is the first to combine the advantages of both systems in an innovative high-end product. "Our new Poresta® Limit S 95 shower unit features an improved version of the proven BF 70 drainage system for floor-level shower units with channel-type drains. As the name suggests though, we focused on the Poresta® Limit S when coming up with the design," explained Dr Karl Iglhaut, head of product development at poresta systems in Bad Wildungen. The basis for the floor-level shower system, the Poresta® material, is expanded polystyrene hard foam which poresta systems manufactures using a special process.

Extremely low installation height
With its 120 mm installation height and 100x100 cm shower area, the Poresta® Limit S is particularly suitable for use in new buildings. In contrast, the new improved Poresta® Limit S 95 has the same format but scores with an installation height of just 95 mm (including gradient) as well as a standard DN 50 connection for horizontal drainage. The fact that its installation height has been reduced by 25 mm makes the system particularly suitable for use when renovating existing bathrooms. What makes the Poresta® Limit S 95 so special is the fact that it still offers extremely high drainage capacity in spite of its reduced height. At 54 l/min., it is even suitable for use in comfort shower areas.

Design-oriented with individual tiling options
In terms of design too, the new improved version offers a number of additional advantages.  Four different designer grates in matt-brushed stainless steel offer scope for creativity when designing a bathroom. Another new feature is a tileable grate insert which provides a particularly elegant touch. With the Poresta® Limit S 95, virtually any floor and wall covering can be used. "From tiles and mosaics to natural stone, customers are free to choose coverings with various dimensions and forms for the surfaces," explained Dr Iglhaut. Thanks to the single-sided gradient, even large-format coverings can be used with no need for gradient sectioning - an important consideration given today's design trends. A further practical feature is the movable grate frame which can be positioned right next to the wall regardless of the thickness of the wall covering.

Wheelchair-accessible and barrier-free
With its step-free convenience, the Poresta® Limit S 95 is ideal for creating a floor-level shower area. The system has no awkward steps or edges and is therefore completely barrier-free. The Poresta® Limit S 95 is the optimum solution for wheelchair users too. Adequate stability can be achieved by using tiles measuring at least 100x100 mm. And when using tiles with minimum dimensions of 50x50 mm, this stability can be achieved simply by integrating an additional glass fibre mesh on-site.

A wide range of design options and simple installation
Thanks to its great versatility, the Poresta® Limit S 95 allows tradespeople to cater for individual customer requests when planning bathrooms. After all, the system size and form can optionally be varied. For example, the 1200x1200 mm standard unit can be enlarged using an extension piece and can also be trimmed in situ, taking into account the geometry, installation height and grate system. A wide range of accessories such as KMK seals, foundation units or a tested soundproofing set (includes test certificate) ensure quick and straightforward installation. Another advantage is the fact that the gradient is already integrated into the surface of the shower on-site. This means that there is no need to install a complex sloping concrete floor, thus making the system even more practical.
The Poresta® Limit S 95 will be available from 01.01.2013.
